Project breakdown

The challenge

Designers, illustrators, and homeowners need to identify real-world colors in professional formats, including RAL for paint. The app also had to stay light, so most users would not carry a large ML model they never use.

What we built

Built from scratch as lead iOS developer at Livita Software:

  • AVFoundation live camera picker and CoreGraphics image eyedropper
  • Custom color-theory palette engine
  • RAL API integration with in-app purchase tiers
  • Colorblind-friendly onboarding
  • On-demand Core ML wall-segmentation model, downloaded only when the visualizer is used and cached on device
